Aaron--
"Look, it's not my fault she's disappeared again." I grumbled, shifting one of the wood planks off of my worktable. "It's not like she's so young that I should have to be watching her, she's 17 for heaven's sake, she's a woman."
"A woman who yet has a husband," Madeline reminded me, patting her graying bun once again. "You, as her only family, should be providing for her, and keeping track of her. Both of those are your duties."
"My duty," I growled, shoving another board into place and measuring out the length. "Is to make sure she's well taken care of until the right guy, and I do mean the right one, not just some stranger out of the gutter, comes along and sweeps her away. Until then, I'll do my job, and hope that she's doing what's right as well."
"You should be thinking of a wife as we-"
"That's enough of your meddling, Madeline!" I snapped, spinning around to face her. "I'd appreciate you leaving my shop, I have work to be doing."
Madeline sighed, giving me one more disapproving look before she starts out the door.
"I swear, that girl's growing up like a wild animal, no one's going to want her at this rate."
Growling under my breath I began cutting the board, attempting to calm the anger swelling in my mind. People needed to just stay out of Kathrine and I's business, what's ours is ours.
Kathrine --
Keeping my back pressed to the wooden side of the house, I peeked around the corner. My fingers continued to grip tightly onto my bag as I made sure know one was going before darting out into the road. I had planned on going stargazing tonight, and there was no way the fact that the wolves were acting up was going to keep me away.
Anna Lee --
I ducked my head a little as I grabbed a serving tray from the counter, walking towards a few of the men around the tavern. I would have rather retreated into my room at this time of night than serve the drunks that were sure to start showing up. Mother said I had to stick around though, seeing as the other help had gone home for the evening.
"Would you like more to drink...?" I asked softly, glancing up at them through my hair.
