Daggerhorn lies on the edge of the Cleophus mountain range. Cleophus is known for it's dangerous creatures that roam it's mountain sides, always eager to attack. But more often than not, the stories and attacks most heard of are the wolves. Many of the men from Daggerhorn have gone out to try and kill the wolf packs, but hardly ever do they come back. If they do, they are never the same and then they too disappear. The harvest months are almost over and winter is about to set in.The blood moon is approaching. A man bitten on the blood moon is a cursed man, and the wolves are getting hungry.

"This is the fourth lamb this month!" One of the towns men shouted from inside the tavern as Toby walked by, her eyes on the ground. The sun was starting to set and her camp was still a ways away. She had come with a gypsy band, one of traders of goods and a few performers, and all she'd heard about since she'd gotten there was the disappearances as the creatures that hid in the forests. She swallowed hard and hugged her shall tighter to herself, hoping that the light would stay out just long enough for her to get home.

"Do you really think it's just an accident?" Methias asked Thesus as he watched his friend slave over the fire. "The lamb wasn't just killed and taken, it was slaughtered. There was no respect for the animal, not like most beasts like a dog would give."
"You jump to conclusions to quickly, what if it was just a boy having some fun? All this talk about creatures in the mountains would have any child eager to play a prank on the village."
"I doubt there is a child with a strong enough stomach to do that to a lamb."

    Aaron--

"Look, it's not my fault she's disappeared again." I grumbled, shifting one of the wood planks off of my worktable. "It's not like she's so young that I should have to be watching her, she's 17 for heaven's sake, she's a woman."
"A woman who yet has a husband," Madeline reminded me, patting her graying bun once again. "You, as her only family, should be providing for her, and keeping track of her. Both of those are your duties."
"My duty," I growled, shoving another board into place and measuring out the length. "Is to make sure she's well taken care of until the right guy, and I do mean the right one, not just some stranger out of the gutter, comes along and sweeps her away. Until then, I'll do my job, and hope that she's doing what's right as well."
"You should be thinking of a wife as we-"
"That's enough of your meddling, Madeline!" I snapped, spinning around to face her. "I'd appreciate you leaving my shop, I have work to be doing."
Madeline sighed, giving me one more disapproving look before she starts out the door.
"I swear, that girl's growing up like a wild animal, no one's going to want her at this rate."
Growling under my breath I began cutting the board, attempting to calm the anger swelling in my mind. People needed to just stay out of Kathrine and I's business, what's ours is ours.

    Kathrine --

Keeping my back pressed to the wooden side of the house, I peeked around the corner. My fingers continued to grip tightly onto my bag as I made sure know one was going before darting out into the road. I had planned on going stargazing tonight, and there was no way the fact that the wolves were acting up was going to keep me away.

    Anna Lee --

I ducked my head a little as I grabbed a serving tray from the counter, walking towards a few of the men around the tavern. I would have rather retreated into my room at this time of night than serve the drunks that were sure to start showing up. Mother said I had to stick around though, seeing as the other help had gone home for the evening.
"Would you like more to drink...?" I asked softly, glancing up at them through my hair.

Toby glanced around and bit her lip as she stared at the streets. This wasn't the way she had come was it? She looked around again before she decided to ask for directions. With a deep breath she ducked into what looked like a carpenter's shop, almost running into the old woman that bustled out. She opened her mouth to say something, but was just ignored. She sighed and deflated before she continued to the center of the shop. "Hello?"

"Have you seen Kathrine lately?" Methias asked, trying to change the subject. Wolves in the mountains and other strange creatures were not what he wanted to be thinking of at the moment.
    "No, I haven't. Why?"
"Oh, I was just wondering, I've got her order ready," he said as he gestured towards a box that sat on his bench.
"I didn't know she made an order," Thesus said with a bit of a smirk.
    "Well...she did."
"Aye...I see..." He waited to see if Methias would offer up any more information, but when he didn't he just rolled his eyes. "I'm going to the tavern, I'll send her this way if I see her."
"Thank you," Methias said as he fanned the flames.

Thesus chuckled and went out into the streets, walking casually. He saw Kathrine coming down the road and gave a mischievous grin and hid before she could see him.

    Aaron--

I'd just managed to make it partway through the cut before I heard the voice, almost cutting my hand as a result. Cursing under my breath I glanced up, ready to tell off another matchmaking old woman, and instead finding a pretty girl.
"Oh..." I grumbled, wondering if I should apologize for using that language in front of her. "...hello."

    Kathrine --

I could almost feel the grass on my skin, already picturing the stars as I spread myself out beneath them by the trees. Yes, there was no way 8 would be missing that. Smiling I continued down the road, doing my best not to be spotted by anyone.

Thesus waited until Kathrine had passed him, then jumped out and grabbed her around the waist, growling playfully. "Where you be off to at this late hour miss Kathrine?" He asked with a chuckle as he tickled her sides. He'd always thought of her as a younger sister, and had always treated her like so.

Toby jumped at his words and blushed just slightly, despite the fact that she was all to use to them. "I..er..sorry I didn't mean to startle you," she said softly and clutched her shawl tighter as some of her bangs fell and hid her face. "I just...I'm lost...you wouldn't be able to help me would you?"

    Aaron --

I hesitated, glancing at my work and relenting with a nod.
"Bet I could, where you lookin' to go?"
The boards could wait a moment longer, these days it wasn't a good idea for a person to be wondering around alone, the wolves made sure of that. Although, I hadn't heard of any people attacks...not yet.

    Kathrine --

I squealed, struggling for a moment before I realized who it was. Continuing to squirm I giggled, trying to get him to let me go.
"Nowhere particular," I lied. "Just walkin'."
I kinda glanced around as I squirmed, trying to see if he was the only one out. I really wouldn't look forward to it if Aaron caught me out here, he probably wouldn't approve that much.

Thesus chuckled and shook his head. "Sure," he said, obviously not believing her. "Methias says he has your order ready. I'm suppose to send you his way." He set her down on the ground, though he still kept hold of her. "You shouldn't be out this late, Katey. It's not safe."

Relief flooded Toby's face and she gave a grateful smile. "Thank you so much. I'm trying to get to the gypsy camp on the edge of town. I just came in for some herbs and...well I got lost trying to find my way out." She blushed and glanced down at the small cloth bag that was clutched in her hand and then back to him.

    Aaron --

I frowned a little, grabbing a rag from my work table and dusting myself off. The gypsy camp...where was that...ah. Yes.
"I can show you back," I told her simply, dropping the rag and swiping the lantern I'd sat out from its perch. "Not too far out there. "

    Kathrine --

I sighed, filling my eyes a bit as I tried to pull the rest of the way from him. "I'm fine... Its not like I'm a little girl or anything. I'm older now..."I paused, glancing towards where the shop was. "An order for me...?"

Thesus nodded. "He's been working on it for weeks, thought you knew what it was," he said with a small shrug, finally letting her go. "I'd go there first if I were you, just to make sure he doesn't burn nothin' down while I'm gone."

"Thank you," Toby said again with a bit of a smile and followed him. "I'm sorry if this is an inconvenience..."

    Kathrine--

I hesitated, knowing him he'd keep me there long enough I'd just have to head home when done. Yet....an evening with Methias wasn't that bad...
"Alright," I muttered, taking a few steps towards the shop and throwing a wave other my shoulder. "I'll go check on him and the place then."

    Aaron --

I shook my head, stepping out of the shop and starting down the road.
"No need to, it isn't right for a girl to be out on her own at night, something could happen. If I didn't show you the way I'd be guilty the rest of the night, perhaps longer if something happened."

Toby blushed at the thought of something happening to her and quickly picked up the pace so she was walking just a few steps behind him. She didn't say anything, unsure of what kind of conversation to make.

"Thank you miss Kathrine!" Thesus called as he made his way to the tavern, chuckling to himself. He went through the doors, and made his way to an empty seat, waving to those that called out to him. "Woman of the house!" he shouted, basically meaning Anna.

    Aaron --

Conversation ... not my strong suit. I began searching for something to talk about, and manager to fail as we continued forwards. After a bit I gave up, instead just searching the area around us with my eyes.
"Anything beginning to look familiar? " I checked, wanting to see if we were heading the right way.

    Kathrine --

Peeking inside the door to the shop, I snuck inside, wondering if I'd be able to startle him. Then I csidered the fact that startling him might be a bad idea, and just called our instead.
"Mathias? Your brother told me you had something for me.. ...."

    Anna Lee --

I paused, glancing toward the call then at my tray again. Setting it down on an empty table I made my way over towards. Thesus, offering a friendly, although admittedly small, smile.
"Hello, you called?" I greeted, tucking a bit of hair behind my ear. "Using my name would have been nicer..."
The last bit slipped out without thought, causing a wild blush to rise to my cheeks.
"Um...please." I added on, wondering if that'd make up for my boldness.

"In here!" Methias called back, his steady hands pouring molten metal into a mold. His bright eyes were focused and his body tense.

Toby gave a small shake of the head and frowned slightly. "No...I'm sorry..I have the worst memory.." She blushed and tripped slightly, falling into him with a squeak.

Thesus grinned at Anna and chuckled. "How are you tonight, Ann? Been having fun without me?"

    Anna Lee --

I rolled my eyes, one hand going to my hip. "Of course Thesus, its always a blast dealing with a room of drunk and sleeping men. It's just been grand."
Perhaps a little thick on the sarcasm...but oh well, at least he'd get the idea. No matter hoe hard I tried as I spoke, the blush didn't fade, as if someone had painted of to my cheeks instead of it just happening.

    Aaron--

"That's alright," I informed her, spotting some lantern and fire lights up ahead. "Looks like we went the right way after all. I best show you to the edge of camp then leave, wouldn't want anyone to think strangely of you being escorted by a strannger. "

    Katherine:

I headed into where his voice had come from and ended u being hit with a face full of heat.
"Oh..whaoh..." I muttered, edging closer to Mathias. "What're you workin' on?"

"A bracelet Miss Darness ordered," Methias said as he then set it out to cool on some warm coals. He looked over at Kathrine, sweat rolling down his face and gave her a smile. "Right, the thing," he said as if just remembering. "It's over there on the work bench in the white box. Finished it this morning."

Thesus grinned a bit more and chuckled. "Oh, I bet it's just splendid. You wouldn't happen to have any apple beer would you?" he asked with a raised brow.

Toby gave a bit of a smile and walked forward a bit more enthusiastically. "Oh, no, you should come. I can give you something for your trouble that way."

    Aaron --

I shook my head, but found myself following her nonetheless as we neared the camp.
"No need," I grumbled, making sure she heard me. "Just did what any decent man should do for a girl."

    Katherine --

    "Alright."
Smiling. I made my way over to the box, slipping it open with a bit of excitement. Knowing Mathias' job the gift had to be something gold... which meant it would be something beautiful.

    Anna Lee --

"Of course," I chuckled, looking over my shoulder at the counter. "Do I ever not?"
Without waiting for an answer AI started towards the bar and located the pitcher, pouring a mug and walking back over.
    "Hows that?"

Thesus smiled happily and took the mug for her. "Perfect...although it would be even better if you joined me," he said with a wink.

Inside the white box laid a small telescope made of gold and silver, with real glass for the lenses. "You'll have to let me know how it works, I haven't really had time to make to many adjustments for aligning and things," he said as he began to shape the metal for the bracelet.

"Mama! J'ai un visiteur, il m'a aidé à la maison! Avons-nous un peu de pain ou quelque chose que nous pouvons le faire pour sa peine?" Toby called out as she reached one of the tents closer to the middle of camp. A small bustling woman came out of the tent and looked at Aaron, smiling brightly.
"Bien sûr! Permettez-moi de connaître les dates séchées!" The woman said as she bustled back inside the tent.
Toby turned back to Aaron and gave a small smile. "Mama says she has dried dates for you."

    Anna Lee --

I rolled my eyes, then hesitated, glancing towards the counter. Mother wasn't there, she must have gone to bed. Father would be at the bar awhile yet, but he didn't seem to care what I did as long as I helped people when they called for me.
"Alright," I muttered, playing with the belt of my dress. "Just for a few moments, okay?"

    Katherine --

"Oh, oh its beautiful!" I gasped, carefully pulling it out of the case and cradling it in my hands. "That must have cost a fortune to make..."
I looked to him, slightly shocked. The gift... I could never afford this, and he knew that... and it was a gift...
"I... don't know what to say..."

    Aaron --

I blinked, hesitating slightly as I glanced between her and the tent, then nodded slowly.
"I always have loved dates," I said, rubbing my neck with a hand. "It'd be a pleasure to have some."

"Thank you would be the first words to come to my mind," Methias said with a slight chuckle, not taking his eyes from the gold metal strand he was now weaving.

Thesus grinned like a little boy getting away with stealing a cookie and patted the seat next to him. "I knew there was a reason I keep coming back here," he said with a wink.

Toby smiled and ducked into the tent, coming back out with the short, plump, happy woman who now held a hand woven back brimming with fresh dried golden dates. She handed them to Toby who gave them to Aaron. "Thank you, again."

    Katherine --

I chuckled, turning it carefully over in my hands before placing it back in the case, I didn't want it getting broken.
"Thank-you, its amazing." I told him, meaning it.
Holding the box against my chest I crept over next to him, far enough away that I wouldn't be causing problems, but close enough to watch.

    Anna Lee --

I rolled my eyes again, perching on the edge of the indicated seat and tilting myself towards him.
"Oh, that's why?" I teased. "Thought it was my Mother's wonderful cooking that did it."

    Aaron --

I gave a small, almost smiling as I lifted the bag to my nose. Taking a short breath I lowered it, looking between the women.
"Well, I'll have to escort young ladies home more often," I began, only slightly joking. "If it gets me more treats like this. Thank-you."

Thesus thought for a moment then cleared his throat. "Only when I am truly drunk," he said as he pointed at her. "How've you been though, seriously. I've missed seeing you around town." His face was more serious as he said this, though still managed to hold that ever present grin.

Methias grinned slightly, weaving the gold into Celtic knots. "You're welcome. I thought it might be helpful with your star gazing, although...I'm not sure you should be out without some kind of company."

Toby blushed lightly and looked at her mother, motioning for her to go. She looked back to Aaron and gave a small smile. "Will you come tomorrow? They're suppose to start selling and doing shows."

    Aaron --

I hesitated, rubbing my neck once again with my free hand as I thought it over.
"I guess I could do that," I said after a moment. "Haven't taken a fee day in awhile. I could bring my sister, Katherine, with me. She likes these sort of things normally."
It certainly could be fun, and would get me away from the blasted matchmaking old ladies in town for awhile. Also, it wasn't like something horrible could come of being in the company of this pretty girl for a little while longer.
"Oh, I just realized," I muttered, dropping my hand. "I haven't introduced myself, my name's Aaron."

    Katherine --

"Oh please, not you too." I groaned, crossing my arms just a little, although making sure to keep careful hold on the case. "Everyone says that, yet I haven't gotten hurt yet. I am not going to either, it's just a bunch of hype, really. Just because I'm by the forest, alone, doesn't mean some animal, man or beast, is going to get me."

    Anna Lee --

I smiled, deciding how to answer that.
"Well, I've just been doing the same old thing. Working here in the Tavern, making sure Mother and Father don't have to do more than they should. Keeping away from the worse drunks at night, holing up in my room during my free time. Nothing really too interesting, how about you?"
